The Miracle in Death is a moving stage play written by Alexander J. Rich that brings the Easter story to life through the eyes of those who witnessed Christ's death and discovered His resurrection.
Set in the aftermath of the crucifixion, the play follows two groups of young people: Leah and Phoebe, two grieving women searching for Jesus's body, and a group of boys (Ethan, Elijah, Caleb, and Cassius) wrestling with doubt and faith as they recount the miracles they witnessed. As they journey to the tomb, they reflect on healing, transformation, and the impossible hope that Jesus truly was the Son of God.
When they arrive at the empty tomb, an angel delivers the news that changes everything: "He has risen."
Through authentic dialogue, humor, and heartfelt testimony, The Miracle in Death captures the raw humanity of those first witnesses: their fear, their questions, and ultimately their joy. The play includes musical interludes that enhance the spiritual journey, making it perfect for Easter services, church productions, and community theater.
